The Aevidum club's goal is to create positive mental health environments where all students feel accepted, appreciated, acknowledged, and cared for. Aevidum students use their gifts and talents to recognize the gifts and talents of their peers to create cultures of care and advocacy in their schools and communities.
Amnesty International

Amnesty International at Manheim Central is the high school version of a much larger international organization that focuses on promoting human rights around the world. The stated mission of the organization is to campaign for "a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights instruments." Students learn about human rights violations around the world and participate in letter-writing campaigns and other activities to promote awareness and to help realize change.
Baron Stage
Baron Stage Overview

Baron Stage is the school's dramatic organization, which is responsible for producing a play in the fall and a musical in the spring. Baron Stage is open to all students in grades 9 through 12 and meets entirely outside of the school day. Play and musical casts are selected through a closed audition process which takes place in September and December. Audition dates are listed in the school calendar. Students with an interest in acting are encouraged to get involved with Baron Stage. There are also opportunities for students who are interested in theater but who do not wish to appear on stage. These include lighting, sound, makeup, costumes, props, and stage management.

Baron Stage Crew

Students interested in theater, but who would prefer not to appear on stage, can join a stage crew to become involved in the drama program. The stage crew meets at every rehearsal during the last month’s fall play and spring musical seasons. If crew members wish to build sets, they will be paired with a mentor Set Builder to build, organize, paint, and prepare all aspects of the set. This is an excellent opportunity for any student who is energetic, creative, and enjoys problem solving. There are numerous leadership opportunities available, and participating students can be an integral part of the Baron Stage productions.

The Bible Club this year meets in the media center Wednesday mornings at 7:15 am. This organization is completely student-led by a team of upper and lower-classmen from the high school. Each meeting opens with praise and worship leading to a speaker who provides words of encouragement and exhortation. This is a great time for fellowship, growth, and fun through this great journey called LIFE!
BNN Club

Formerly the Video Yearbook Club, the primary purpose of this club is to plan, shoot and edit videos and photos for distribution on the Baron Nation Network YouTube channel and social media. Members are also involved in the production of the morning announcements. When not working on productions for the club, students can create their own projects using the photography and video equipment. BNN Club gives you a chance to make projects and use your creativity without the restrictions of course requirements. Involvement in this club requires an out-of-school commitment. Students should take the Intro to Video Production or Digital Photography course before signing up for this club.

“The MC Ping Pong Club/Chess Club is an informal gathering of students who want to have some fun playing chess and hang out. They meet on Thursdays after school in the high school lobby and finish around 4:30 or so, depending on how many members are present. Anyone can join; they have all the equipment, so you just need to show up and enjoy. There are periodic tournaments, but even these are pretty relaxed.”
Choir

Choir is a non-auditioned vocal ensemble that rehearses during the school day. The group studies sight-singing and ear training skills, tone production, and proper singing technique. Repertoire performed includes selections in several different languages, with and without piano accompaniment. The choir has two performances per semester.
Concert Band

The concert band is available to all wind, brass, and percussion musicians who desire to further their musical skills and performance opportunities. Students perform in both semesters and may also work with the director to audition for additional opportunities such as County, District, Region-State, and All-State bands. Concert Band is a curricular ensemble that you can elect to take for credit. The Concert Band meets as a FULL ENSEMBLE as part of the regular high school schedule for the ENTIRE YEAR. The Concert Band, along with the other ensembles, performs a variety of concerts throughout the school year.
German Club

German club is open to any student who is enrolled in a German class during the school year, has completed a German class, or is a heritage speaker. The club is designed for students with an interest in the German language and the culture of the German-speaking people, and who want to deepen their understanding and appreciation thereof. The club meets about twice a month and activities include music, games, holidays, food, field trips, and International Culture Day.
German National Honor Society (NGHS)

Delta Epsilon Phi, the National German Honor Society for high school German students is an academic honor available to students who have completed at least 3 levels of German with a 3.6 GPA or higher in German, and a 3.0 GPA overall. Although the group does not meet regularly, various activities are often planned throughout the school year.

The Inclusion and Diversity Club is a space for Manheim Central students of color, LGBTQ+, and allies to gather and appreciate the diverse personalities and experiences that make up the MCHS student body. All students, no matter race, religion, sexuality, or gender are welcome to join.
Inscription

Inscription is a group of creative individuals exploring their unique talents through writing, art, photography, music, and film. The members of Inscription hope more writers and artists will be willing to share their work through the Inscription Website and inspire others to do the same. Our goal is to encourage writers and artists to share their work with both the school and community.

Interact Club is a service club sponsored by the Rotary of Manheim and Manheim Central School District. The theme for Interact is Service Above Self with the central concept of students ‘giving back’ to the community. Members are required to volunteer a minimum of 10 service hours by the end of each school year. Past projects have included: Roadside clean-up, serving free community meals in the Manheim area, helping with the evening meal at Water Street Rescue Mission in Lancaster, caroling at Pleasant View Retirement Community, MCFEE Auction, Technical Tutoring at Pleasant View, assisting at the Manheim Farm Show and more. Interact welcomes new members anytime throughout the school year. Please see Mrs. Burdyn if you are interested in joining. Come and enjoy the gift of giving back!
Jazz Band

Our Jazz Band provides an opportunity for musicians to play in a smaller ensemble setting and explore the varied idioms of jazz music. Jazz Band is a select group of students who play instruments found in standard jazz ensembles—saxophones, trombones, trumpets, guitar, bass, piano, and drum set. The band rehearses in the evening, once a week beginning in November into early December. The Jazz Barons perform frequently in the spring for Manheim Central community events and at local high school jazz festivals.
Marching Band

In addition to the concert band, our other large ensemble is the award-winning Marching Barons. The band is open to all students who play wind, brass, and percussion instruments as well as those students interested in visual performances such as dance, flags, etc. The band performs at football games, the Manheim Farm Show Parade, the Manheim Memorial Day Parade, and select band competitions throughout the fall marching season. Rehearsals begin in July, along with a MANDATORY two-week camp at the beginning of August. During the fall marching season, the band rehearses Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Students in all sports can involve themselves in the Marching Band.
MC Quiz Bowl Team

Our quiz bowl team competes against local schools in the Lancaster – Lebanon Quiz Bowl League. The team practices during clubs and connections time. League play is every other Monday from October through February with a short break in December. This team is open to students in grades 9-12.
MC Science Club

The Science Club is for students in grades 9-12 who are interested in any or all aspects of science and technology. The Science Club supports the Science Olympiad Team, a group of science club members who participate in competitions consisting of 23 different events covering all aspects of science, technology, and engineering. As a Junior or Senior, qualifying members can apply to become part of the Science National Honor Society. In addition, as part of this organization students engage in activities to promote science in the community by presenting at events such as Elementary Science Night for the district’s elementary students and their families.
MC Student Investment Club

The Manheim Central Student Investment Club gives students the chance to manage stocks and provides the fundamentals of investing. The club also sponsors the annual Stock Market Challenge which is an online trading contest where participants are provided virtual money to invest in equities of their choice. It helps to increase awareness of the club, exposes students and adults to the stock market, enjoys friendly competition, and provides a charitable contribution. Students must achieve a minimum of 85% in the Stock Market Investing course in order to join.
Medical Careers Club

The Manheim Central Careers Medical Careers Club provides opportunities for students to explore various careers in the medical field with a special focus on nursing. Facilitators from Lancaster General Hospital’s Future Nurse’s Club come monthly to present medical topics in an educational yet fun format. The material is not only relevant to nursing but can be applied to other careers in the medical field as well. Additionally, we have guest speakers from various medical fields. The club also leads wellness related events for the school community and sometimes we conduct a service project or field trip.
National Art Honor Society (NAHS)

Our chapter of NAHS is made up of motivated students dedicated to promoting the arts in school and the community. Members produce, discuss, and write about art after school while working towards finding new ways of involving the community in the visual arts. A passion for art and the desire to share the love of creating are essential characteristics for students interested in this organization.
National English Honor Society (NEHS)

NEHS seeks to recognize students accomplished in literature, fine writing, language, and media studies; to nurture these individuals through building relationships with faculty and others and encourage members to use their talents in the service of others. To qualify for NEHS students must attend MCHS for a minimum of one semester; complete at least two semesters of English, or the equivalent; achieve a minimum English grade point average of 3.6 and a minimum 3.6 overall; complete an application process.
National FFA Organization

This is the largest youth organization in the nation and is open to all students enrolled in an Agriculture Education class. Members can participate in conferences, contests and individual projects while learning about agriculture. Students share what they’ve learned with others during the Manheim Community Farm Show, and other educational events.
National Honor Society (NHS)

Membership for NHS is only granted to juniors and seniors who are selected by the Faculty Council that demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, character, and scholarship. Juniors and seniors who meet the GPA requirements (unweighted, cumulative grade point average of 3.700 or higher) are invited to apply and must complete an application. NHS provides several services to the school district and community.
Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society

The Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes academic excellence in the field of Social Studies. Rho Kappa provides national opportunities for exploration and the promotion of social studies. Through its sponsorship of Rho Kappa, the National Council of Social Studies hopes to encourage an interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the social sciences at the local and national levels.
Members of Rho Kappa gain experience in historical interpretation through working with collaborating museums and historical sites throughout Lancaster County. The goal is to promote scholarship and to recognize academic excellence in social studies in secondary school environments and in the community.
Ski and Snowboard Club

This club will provide students with an opportunity to gain experience or improve their snowboarding or skiing skills. Students can participate in the annual ski trip to Killington Resort in Vermont.

The SHH recognizes high student achievement in Spanish and promotes a continuity of interest in Hispanic Studies. Eligible students are invited to join the society after the first marking period of Spanish III and then inducted in the spring. Students must carry a 90% average in both Spanish I and Spanish II as well as maintain a 3.5 weighted cumulative GPA. After students are inducted in the spring, there are college scholarship opportunities as well as cash prizes for projects that are submitted to the international society for print in the ¡Albricias! Society journal.

Spanish Club is open to any student who is enrolled in a Spanish class during the school year, or who has completed Spanish II. This club is designed for those that enjoy the Spanish language and want to get to know the culture better. Some of the activities include Hispanic dinners, cooking demonstrations, films, games, music, holidays, and International Culture Day. We hold meetings in English, but Spanish language and Hispanic cultures are present in activities and club events. Spanish Club meets at least once a month.
Spring Chamber Singers

Spring Chamber Singers, formerly Chansodié, is an auditioned vocal ensemble that rehearses both during the school day and during after-school evenings. The group performs advanced high school and collegiate level repertoire. Spring Chamber Singers frequently perform within the school district and the community. You must be registered for a choir course to audition.
String Ensemble

String Ensemble is available to string players who are members of the MCHS Orchestra who desire the opportunity to learn to perform in a chamber music group. The MCHS String Ensemble performs at the Winter and Spring Concerts as well as adjudications like Music in the Parks. In addition to performance opportunities, members of the string ensemble are given the opportunity to mentor younger musicians in the MCMS String Ensemble.

Student Council is a student-run organization that seeks to improve school and community life through its many outreaches, initiatives, and programs, including Homecoming Weekend (Spirit Week, Homecoming Court, and the Homecoming Dance), the Winter Dance, and Mini-THON (raising funds to find a cure for childhood cancer), to name a few. Members also serve in the Football Food Stand and run the Indoor Concession Stand for all sporting events. In addition, Student Council donates gifts to the school community and helps sponsor club projects. This organization serves as an important link of communication among students, teachers, administration, and the school board. Student Council is made up of about eighty students in grades 9-12 who apply for membership in the fall.
Symphony Orchestra

The symphony orchestra is available to musicians who desire to further their musical skills and performance opportunities. Students perform in both semesters and may also work with the director to audition additional orchestras such as County, District, Region-State, and All-State Orchestra. Students may also choose to perform in small ensemble groups throughout the year. Students who would like to be in the Orchestra must take Orchestra as a class in their schedule during the school year.
Technology Student Association (TSA)

Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national organization of students engaged in the study of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) beyond the classroom and it gives students the chance to pursue academic challenges among friends with similar goals and interests. TSA members work on competitive events, attend conferences at the regional, state, and national levels, and have a fun time raising funds to get there.
Thespian Honor Society

Thespian Honor Society is newly open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors who meet the induction application and requirements. The group welcomes members around performing and technical theater. Thespian Honor Society explores the various elements of theater through workshops, performances, and activities.
Yearbook

The Stiegel Rose Yearbook is written, illustrated, and designed entirely by students with the assistance of advisors. Students are responsible for photographing events/activities and interviewing participants to produce a detailed write-up for the yearbook. The yearbook is run as a full-year enrichment. To meet publishing deadlines, students will be required to work outside of the school day on their assigned page.
